REDEFINE YOUR RELATIONSHIP

Couples Therapy

Couples can experience great struggle when life’s stressors breach our window of tolerance. It’s not always romance, and although a romantic depiction of coupledom at sunset is ideal, we are not immune from experiencing pain in our relationships. But can there be more sunset moments? Is there a different way of being together? Can we learn to express our needs in a way that is not harmful to our partner? Can we let down the barrier between us and let our partner in? Can we look forward to sharing dreams and to become whole or is it better if we do this apart? All of these questions are valid, and can be explored when both partners are in a safe environment and have an opportunity to be validated and heard.

TREAT TRAUMA WITH EVIDENCE-BASED METHODS

Trauma

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based technique used to help individuals reprocess and heal traumatic experiences. EMDR is not just used for PTSD, but for recent traumatic events, anxiety, depression, attachment issues, and grief. The healing effects of EMDR can be more effective than talk therapy for some clients. Additionally, individuals aren’t required to talk about their trauma in depth.

RESTORE & FIND BALANCE

Grief

Loss unexpectedly shows up in life, takes us by complete surprise, and leaves us feeling vulnerable. Grief is complicated, and there is no “right way” to grieve. The loss we grieve isn't necessarily apparent to us at first. And sometimes, those you are closest with may unintentionally give you unwanted advice, assume to know what you need, or completely misunderstand your needs. This is unhelpful when you are trying to go through the motion of deep healing and recovery. Additionally frustrating, is an expectation to resolve your grief in a certain amount of time. Creating a sacred space for you to sort out the different pieces of your grieving, and within your personal time frame is possible and worth your time and effort.
