Couples Counseling
EFT
EFT is an evidence-based modality used to help couples recognize negative interaction patterns and address one another's underlying needs.
Dr. Sue Johnson is the primary developer of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT targets the defining feature of survival-oriented human connection, namely strong emotion, which systematically shapes core bonding interactions with others.
EFT has demonstrated its effectiveness in over 30 years of peer-reviewed clinical research. Attachment science offers us the most potent model for therapeutic change, especially when dealing with anxiety and depression, and that, of all models of intervention.

TRAUMA

Find Healing & Recovery
Trauma is tricky. Every living organism will experience trauma in a lifetime, and it can especially touch human lives in a unique way. Trauma affects us differently than any other phenomenon, depending on factors such as reliency, impact, type of trauma, and the frequency and duration of the trauma. Common symptoms may look like heightened states of anxiety and depression, and accompany many other undesired behaviors including severe physical ailments and distress. Longitudinal research has identified breakthrough interventions from Dr. Francine Shapiro such as EMDR, along with extensive education backing body awareness and exercises. An experiential process in a safe and warm environment will support your healing and growth, and can help you attain the inner peace you desire.
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma.
Unprocessed traumatic events can cause both physical and mental health symptoms. EMDR is a technique I use to help individuals reprocess and repair traumatic experiences. I use this method of therapy to treat developmental and attachment trauma, acute and post-traumatic stress, grief, anxiety, and depression. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an information processing therapy that helps clients cope with trauma, addictions, and phobias.
During this treatment, a patient focuses on a specific thought, image, emotion, or sensation while simultaneously participating in bilateral stimulation of the body. EMDR consists of 8 total phases. Longitudinal studies support the efficacy of EMDR in treating and resolving trauma over other therapeutic modalities.
